Generations of Love Staff and Volunteers

Director

Selena Cross, Next Gen Program Director

“I am most excited about the lives that we are going to change together and to meet each and every child that comes to this program.”

Selena is the Next Gen Adolescent Program Director. She has earned degrees in Applied Science in Nursing and Chemical Dependency Counseling, and licensure as a registered nurse, specializing in critical care. She leverages the experience she’s gained with people in a variety of age groups, and across a broad spectrum of social and economic populations, to provide vital support and resources for youth in our community. Selena extends her 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 life philosophy to the Generations of Love family. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband and three sons, loves weightlifting, and reads non-fiction educational books.

Staff

Generations of Love staff are responsible for overseeing youth that attend our Next Gen Programming. They provide supervision, support, and guidance to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all, and keep day-to-day programming running smoothly. They have a passion for working with youth and are committed to providing a high-quality experience for participants.

Tammy Mahoney

“I love working with the kids and I’m hoping to make a difference in their lives.”

Denise (Dee Dee) Miller

"I love working with kiddos!”

Jeannie Swob, Driver

“I believe in serving families in our community and I believe in the mission of Generations of Love.”

Volunteers

Next Gen Youth Program volunteer opportunities might include: tutoring (especially math), music, arts/crafts, gardening, basic sewing, playing board games, fishing, bowling, escape room, cooking, car care, personal money management, and time/task management. Other Generations of Love services are also in need of volunteer assistance from time to time. For example, sorting donations in the Care Closet, helping deliver beds/mattresses, or supporting fundraising or marketing activities.

Misty Cole

“I am disabled and was looking for something to occupy my time. I absolutely love children, and with my family ties to the system thought this would be a great fit.”

Misty has made a long-term commitment to teaching cooking skills, connecting with kids during some relaxing “kitchen time”, and preparing homemade meals for the kids’ “family dinner.”
